To begin we would like to congratulate our current Under 16 Blues team on their sensational year, wrapping up the Division two title without losing a league game all season.
Darren Fisher has been a coach with us for a long time now and will continue to be so as he also has a son at this years Under 8's, he deserves both the accolade and the praise having had some difficult seasons in previous years, he never gave up and never showed any hint of being defeated in his task.
Amazing stuff from Darren and his team, well done :-)
Around other age groups we also saw some good seasons;
Under 13 Whites finished runners in division 2 and are in the League Plate final
Under 15's finished runners up in Division 1
Under 16 Whites are in the League Cup final whilst boasting Division 1's golden boot player in Kyle Holmes.
Looking to next season, our current under 11's will have their first taste of league football which they've been looking forward to for some time, shame we have to wait.
We also say goodbye to our current under 16's teams (although there is some hope of having one team represent us at Under 17 level if the league can get 8 teams to apply) Some of these players have been with the club for many many years, I'd like to think they have enjoyed their time playing football with their friends and teammates and that wearing the AFC badge has been the privilege they had imaged.
One of the coaches from under 16's, Dan Richards will be leaving us entirely and this is such a sad loss for us as he has been an inspiration both on and off the field, thank you Dan for all you have done over the years.
To all players, coaches, volunteers and parents, thank you for playing your part in a hugely successful season it wont be long before we are back again I promise.
