We have two awards that we will be presenting at the AFC awards night this coming Friday.
We need you to decide who deserves them.... ... Volunteer:
Tracy Stephen
Tracy is the driving force behind all fundraising events throughout the season. She works tirelessly to think of and organise ways in which the club can make money. She also plans and arranges all sponsorships for the season which is no mean feat with over 18 teams in the club, speaking to various companies and selling the benefits of supporting one of our age groups. She is also a valued member of the community board and is always bringing new ideas to the table. She is a tough cookie who is hard to say no to and that makes her a valuable member of the team & a fantastic fundraiser.
Helen Garlick & Phil Cox
This lady is an unsung hero and has done the subs for her son’s team since they were under 11’s. She organises Christmas parties for the year group, she helps with the clubs fundraising team and is always happy and smiling. She helps every week taking nets down and is team taxi most weeks, even bought a bench for the team to use out of her own money and puts it up and takes it down for every game, with her we also get her partner Phil, with which she has worked long hours over the season helping to spruce up the changing rooms up at Kennedys, they were the drivers of the project and made everything happen, great asset to the club the pair of them. Class act!
Russ Cawley aka the bearded lino
This guy is the boys biggest fan always supporting them cheering them one every week a proper 12th man. Never negative just a real positive person and great to have around at any time, he always knows when one of the lads is struggling and needs some reassurance or a kind word and I know the lads all think very highly of him as we all do. What's special about Russ is that he has run the line every game without question for as long as I can remember, he gets a lot of stick at times does our bearded lino but takes it all in his stride and never gives the lads anything if it's not right to his credit. And all this he does in shorts and crocs .... Legend
Coach:
Dan Richards
Dan has lead his team to the league championship this season the first coach from AFC Rushden & Diamonds Youth to achieve the feat. Talking good players and have them win a match is one thing, having them sustain this over the course of a season is quite another.
Mark Gibbs, Carl Waterfield, Aaron Stracey
Our very own Invincibles. One of their teams (they have 2) has gone the entire mini soccer season undefeated, a remarkable feat at mini soccer level when teams can be world beaters one week and look like they have never played before the week after.
Dave Thompson
Currently placed second in the league with only a couple of games to go Dave has taken his team that much further this year, winning 17 of their 21 games in the league and scoring 112 goals in the process, Dave has taken this team from bottom of the table fodder to challenging for the title.
Kevin Bull
Kevin, as well as heading up our girls’ football section has coached the under 12 Girls through a fantastic first season with us, sitting second in the division and with the League Cup Final at the end of the month, what more could be asked of this gentleman, awesome, just awesome.
