Fury and the Freekicks Foundation

Back in May when team Fury headed to Gt Yarmouth for a footy tour two of the dads Christian Vann & (Darren) Vicki Johnson had decided they were going cycle there, 130miles!

You know what, they only went and did it! In horrendous conditions as well, leaving Rushden around 7am & arrived in Yarmouth late in the afternoon to be cheered on by all of team Fury, an unbelievable effort from these two I'm sure you'll agree.

We were raising money for our own team and The Freekicks Foundation, Freekicks provide football related activities for ill, bereaved and disadvantaged children, I was in contact with Steve from Freekicks as I wanted our boys who had done this years sponsored walk and bucket collection in support of the two dads to see the difference they could made to some less fortunate children.

I nominated Ollie & Jack (twin brothers) from our U11's age group, Ollie has Duchenne disease so has it tough on a daily basis, Jack his twin is such a credit to his family and an unbelievable brother to Ollie. Tonight we surprised them both their training session, on Saturday they will both be mascots for Peterborough Utd vs Coventry and will enjoy a day to remember ⚽️

Team Fury are also flag bearers for this game & will give the boys & two teams a guard of honour as they enter pitch, I hope to 2 very special boys

💎💙⚽️ Its amazing what grasroots football brings.

Well done to all involved and everyone that either shared our post or donated to our page 💙👊

Next year in May the same two dads are running to Skegness and will be raising money for a wheelchair for one of our players little sister who has Debra disease.

What this space 👊💙⚽️💎
