U7's Hayden road

Team of The Day

AFC Rushden & Diamonds U7s took part in a fantastic afternoon in conjunction with AFC Rushden & Diamonds First Team.

The afternoon started with a tour of the ground. The players learnt about emergency access into the ground and how important it is to stay clear of certain areas whilst attending matches. The tour continued as the players where shown other areas of the ground, Dales bars with Dale Roberts shirts and pictures, an inspiration to many of the players. Players then had an opportunity to sit in the director’s chairs. They then moved on to having access to all areas in the hospitality room where players had a Q and A with Andy Peaks. Players then visited the physio room and tried out some of the equipment. Then visited the changing rooms with the first team player’s shirts where hung up ready for the match.

The U7s players recently took part in a sponsored half mile dribble. The player who raised the most money won a signed football from the first team. The award was announced over the tonoi and presented by Manager Andy Peaks. The U7s players then awarded Ben Farrell with the Player of the Month award followed by a chat and a photo with the Ben.

After the awards had been presented the U7 players were thrilled to walk the First Team players out on to the pitch.

The half time entertainment saw U7 players taking part in a mini match.

As the goals were scored during the game the U7s chanted and watched in amazement when the keepers took their goal kicks.

The U7 players had the opportunity to choose and award the Man of the Match. They choose number 7, Joel Gyasi. The players had a photo with Joel and the coaches presented him with champagne.

On behalf of the Parents, players and coaches we want to say thank you to the First Team for having us and making the afternoon so enjoyable, we all thoroughly enjoyed the day and we cannot wait to take part again.

Many thanks
