Saturday 20th May saw two AFC girls teams in cup finals at Rounds Town's Kiln Park ground.
Our under 11's put on a valiant display Northampton Town, they eventually went down 4-2 after Northampton played some good flowing football in the second half.
In the second final for an AFC team on the day the U13's came up against old foes in FC Aztec, managed by an ex work colleague of mine, Vinney Elmore.
There was an expectation that the match would be a walk over for Diamonds as they had been so strong during the season, however, the first half was so even, FC really standing toe to toe with us.
The second half was more like we expected with Diamonds pressuring FC for the majority of the half, chances a plenty were created and Diamonds managed to put three past the FC keeper although without some good defending and keeping that could have been much more.
So, two cup finals and one trophy in the cabinet. Well done Kev and his team of players and coaches, seriously proud of you.
