Huge congratulations to Dave Thompson and his under 13's squad who wrapped up the division 2 title last night with a nervy 3-2 away win at second placed Corby Diamonds.
Here are the words Dave shared with his group after the final whistle blew and they began to celebrate;

Well what a nervous game that was but the players were really up for it today and put in a great battling performance today and thoroughly deserved the victory.
We started on the front foot and took a deserved lead on 2mins through a header from Alex. We continued to have must of the possession and doubled our lead as Harry ran onto a through ball and calmly rounded the keeper. Despite being 2-0 up we knew Corby were dangerous up front. Corby pulled a goal back on 15mins and then 5mins later we lost possession easily and their striker ran finishing well to make it 2-2. Corby had a chance to go 3-2 up but Richard pulled off an exceptional save.
2nd half was very tight with both teams battling hard and putting in some tough challenges. Both teams had a few half chances but were unable to convert them. Then with 10mins to go Alex popped up to make it 3-2. Corby them pushed forward looking for an equaliser but defence held firm. With a few minutes left Corby they were through but an excellent last ditch tackle from Billy kept them at bay. Then the final whistle went and the celebration of the players started.
Today I couldn't fault the players for their excellent commitment and effort today. Also it was great to see those on the bench supporting and cheering on throughout.
